Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced direct buses from the Business Bay metro station to various other metro stations to enhance commuters' convenience. This initiative is part of RTA's efforts to streamline transportation services in the city.
In addition to the direct bus routes, RTA has revealed plans to restore normal operations at four Dubai Metro stations – OnPassive, Equity, Mashreq, and Energy Metro – by May 28. These stations were temporarily closed due to heavy rains that affected the emirate in mid-April.
The direct buses will depart from Exit 2 at the Business Bay metro station and will connect passengers to the following destinations:
- OnPassive station
- Mall of the Emirates, Equiti, and Mashreq stations
- Al Khail and Dubai Internet City Stations
In response to the growing demand for services in the Business Bay area, RTA expanded the 'Bus on Demand' service to cater to the needs of commuters. This service, which operates through the 'Dubai Bus On Demand' app, utilizes 14-seater buses to provide flexible transportation options.
To ensure passenger safety, RTA implemented 'crowd management protocols' at Dubai Metro stations during rush hours, starting in April. These protocols aim to regulate passenger flow and maintain social distancing measures.
The 'Bus on Demand' service allows drivers to communicate directly with service requesters via the app, enabling them to reach the nearest pickup point within the covered areas, which include Al Barsha, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Al Nahda, and Business Bay.
