'Ramadan Souq', an annual traditional celebration of the arrival of the holy month of Ramada in Dubai organized by the Dubai Municipality, returns on Saturday, February 17.

Consumers can shop for basic household and personal products and unique items to commemorate 'Hag Al Laila,' including festivities, live entertainment, events, and kid-friendly activities.
Vibrant souqs
Dubai Municipality said the Ramadan Souq is organized not just to support tourism and commercial activities but also "to showcase traditional markets and safeguard the heritage and authenticity of age-old customs associated with preparations for the blessed month of Ramadan."
"Deira's historical markets hold significant prominence as traditional commercial hubs, dating back to the 19th century," noted Dubai municipality, adding: "These markets have undergone restoration, rehabilitation and classification based on their types."
Delightfully referred to as the Al Dhalam Souq or Darkness Market, the Grand Souq in Deira is famous for its extensive selection of goods. Plates Market, for instance, carries kitchen necessities such as trays and pots. The market for men's fabrics and Souq Al Manazer, which sells various products, is also available.
Furthermore, in the area of the Al-Matarih Market, which is traditionally known as Tikki, one can find armchairs and cushions for sale. The food market, the marine tool market, the Souq Al Khilak for fabrics, the perfume market, and the gold market are all noteworthy markets in the region.
