Visitors to Yas Island were treated to a dazzling drone show featuring intricate designs, including a giant falcon, a driverless car, and more, illuminating the night sky.
The show was part of Abu Dhabi Mobility Week (ADMW), organised by the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi (DMT). The event aims to showcase smart, autonomous, and sustainable urban mobility solutions from worldwide.
DRIFTx, a two-day event at Yas Marina Circuit, will kick off the week with displays of flying taxis, driverless cars, and autonomous boats. The event, in collaboration with the Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industry (SAVI) Cluster and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), will feature over 80 global mobility experts discussing transportation trends and innovations.
The FAB Cycling Festival on Al Hudayriyat Island will offer cycling activities for all skill levels. A highlight will be the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL), where four driverless cars will race for a prize pool of $2.25 million.
An AI versus human car race will also feature Abu Dhabi's Technology Innovation Institute pitting their autonomous car against former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat.
The week will also include a cycling journey covering key landmarks in Abu Dhabi, an academic awareness initiative, and the Mobility Live ME conference at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
