This new arrangement is valid for India-UAE routes.
Those flying between the United Arab Emirates and India can now take advantage of even more affordable fares, as low-cost carrier Air India Express introduced Xpress Lite fares on Tuesday. These fares allow passengers to travel without the need for checked cargo.
The airline, which is a subsidiary of Air India and a division of the Tata group, stated that Xpress Check-In offers substantial discounts on pre-booked +15 kg and +20 kg check-in baggage allowances in addition to a complimentary +3 kg cabin baggage allowance and the ability to bypass counter and baggage belt lines. This guarantees the utmost convenience and adaptability for passengers making reservations using Xpress Lite fares.
Additionally, this new package is valid for India-UAE routes. It serves fourteen international and thirty-one domestic airports with a daily volume of more than 340 flights.
The low-cost carrier provides 195 weekly flights connecting India and the United Arab Emirates, with the following destinations served: Sharjah (77), Abu Dhabi (31), Ras Al Khaimah (5), and Al Ain (2). Weekly, the airline operates 308 flights throughout the Gulf region.
Aloke Singh, managing director of Air India Express, said earlier in an interview with Khaleej Times that the airline sought to increase capacity to the Gulf region, including the UAE, and improve connectivity for Gulf travellers in various Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities throughout India.
Air India Express announced that passengers on Xpress Lite flights can pre-book an extra 3kg of cabin baggage at no cost, in addition to the standard 7kg allowance. This can be done during the booking process or later in the 'Manage' or 'Check-in' sections of the airline's website or mobile application.
Passengers can conveniently pre-book additional 'check-in baggage' allowances at substantially discounted rates for 15kg and 20kg excess baggage portions, should they require such services in the future. Additionally, check-in baggage services are available for purchase at the airline counters located at the airport.
CEO of Air India Express Ankur Garg stated, "Xpress Lite Fares across our domestic and international networks have the potential to redefine air travel convenience while providing exceptional value."
