The most popular European cities among Russian tourists have been declared. No city from Turkey was included on the list.
As per the calculations made by OneTwotrip travel booking services experts for RIA Novosti among European cities this summer, Russians booked hotels mainly in Paris, Milan, and Rome. The list was notable for the absence of tourist cities from Turkey, and Paris ranked first. As per the information from gazetem.ru, the study said, "Paris is at the top while the French capital accounts for 5.7 per cent of bookings, which is 15 per cent less than last summer. The average cost of a room is 16 thousand rubles per day. Then come the two Italian cities of Milan and Rome. A night in a hotel there will cost about 13 thousand and 12 thousand rubles, respectively. It was noted that Milan's popularity increased by more than a quarter during the year, while in the Italian capital, accommodation choices started to decrease by 10 per cent.
Budapest on the rise
The top 10 European cities in demand among Russian travellers also included Belgrade, where the average cost per night is 7 thousand rubles; Barcelona, 15 thousand rubles, Budapest 8 thousand rubles, Venice 14 thousand rubles, Madrid 9 thousand rubles, Vienna 13 thousand rubles; and Berlin, 10 thousand rubles. At the same time, Budapest's popularity increased by 2.5 times during the year. Berlin and Belgrade also became more popular destinations for holidaymakers. Interest in Barcelona and Venice decreased by 20 per cent.
