Malaysia Airlines And IndiGosign MoU For Proposed Codeshare Agreement

This strategic collaboration would see Malaysia Airlines leveraging IndiGo's extensive network in India to enhance its connectivity to the country.

As the marketing carrier on IndiGo-operated flights, Malaysia Airlines aims to broaden its reach and offer customers seamless travel experiences. In return, IndiGo customers would gain access to many Southeast Asia destinations through Malaysia Airlines' comprehensive network, facilitating easier travel planning and exploration.

Malaysia Airlines and IndiGo, two leading players in the aviation industry, have united in a landmark agreement to bolster connectivity between Malaysia and India. The memorandum of Understanding signed between the airlines paves the way for a codeshare partnership and cooperation agreement promising increased travel options and customer flexibility. The strategic collaborations would see Malaysia Airlines leveraging IndiGo's extensive network in India, enhancing its connectivity to the country. As the marketing carrier on IndiGo-operated flights, Malaysia Airlines aims to broaden its reach and offer customers seamless travel experiences. In return, IndiGo customers will gain access to many Southeast Asia destinations through Malaysia Airlines' comprehensive network, facilitating easier travel planning and exploration.

Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting India as their largest international market. "With India being our most significant global market, we are delighted to enter this MoU with IndiGo to further widen our reach beyond the nine hubs we operate within India. This collaboration underscores our ongoing commitment to providing diverse travel options and flexibility to this growing aviation market, primarily focusing on enhancing the customer journey.

We look forward to fostering cultural exchange and making travel more accessible for Malaysia Airlines and IndiGo passengers as we extend our inimitable Malaysian Hospitality to ensure a warm and inviting experience for all our guests," he said.

Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer of IndiGo, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the partnership's benefits in offering a seamless travel experience between India and Malaysia. "We are pleased to announce our proposed codeshare agreement with Malaysian Airlines, Malaysia's national carrier. This partnership will offer a seamless travel experience between India and Malaysia and enhance international trade opportunities by improving accessibility. This codeshare aligns with our vision to provide access to an unparalleled network while delivering on our promise of providing on-time, affordable, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences," he said.
